Bonny Oaks Railroad Bridges

Project: Phase Two-Bridge Replacement over Bonny Oaks Drive
Owner:  Hamilton County, Tennessee
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Date: September 2010
Delivery Method: General Contractor

Scope of Work:

JCF installed three (3) through-girder railroad bridges to serve a future Volkswagon plant in Chattanooga.  The bridges were built underneath power lines and over Bonny Oaks Drive with traffic and electric service being minimally disturbed.  Each span is 130’ long with each span handling its own track.  The project also included the demolition (for replacement) of the existing single track bridge after two (2) of the spans were installed.  The initial span was constructed on a very tight schedule and all phases were completed on-schedule through good coordination between Hamilton County Railroad Authority, JCF, the fabricator (Prospect Steel), the engineer (Crouch Engineering), and the on-site civil contractor (Talley Construction).
